It was odd. It's been ages.
Seemed nippy, twitchy, but didn't hold speed, and was *so hard* to go uphill on.

Not what I expected at all.

Bit puzzled. I still don't understand how big wheels with that "flywheel effect" thing can feel so good - I wondered if it's about riding quite calmly - coming from SS riding you learn to keep off the brakes and be smooth - I guess 29in riding benefits from these riding skillz?

I felt that too. It's a sign that you have adapted to the bigger wheels both mentally and physically.

I know the 26 inch wheels didn't feel so odd when I left them, but when I came back, yes: I had the same feelings as you did.

Perhaps this is evidence, more than anything else, that 26"ers aren't quite big enough wheels after all. Maybe..........

The single speed technique and 29"ers are like white on rice. They were made for each other!
