Sounds like that could be related.MMike said:The shop is just on the other side of the door. Lots of welding and grinding etc.
MMike said:It only just started doing it today. And the welding stations have been there forever.

This sounds like where I work. I'm an engineer for a welding shop. It's so filthy here, we have to clean out the computers very often. Lots of strange things happen to the computers. I spent 2 days last week chasing cables connecting a pc to my cnc plasma table. Come to find out so much metal dust had collected inside the computer case it wouldn't communicate. Go figure.MMike said:Nope nothing around it. Not eating, no other stuff. It was doing it much wose about 20 mins ago. But it's not as bad now....
In general our office air is pretty dirty. The shop is just on the other side of the door. Lots of welding and grinding etc. So all of the fan inlets on all of the office machines are pretty dirty.
Amazingly, our printer is like 6 years old and is still going strong.
Dust and dirt are your computers enemies. At the least a nice layer of dust will insulate the components causing them to run hotter. And in some cases, as you found out, it can make components stop communicating altogether.ROCKLAND said:This sounds like where I work. I'm an engineer for a welding shop.
