Campy Super Record...came by the shop today housed in a Pelican case. After talking to the Campy guy, I'm quite anxious to get my Chorus group...though, now I might upgrade to Record shifters. Still planning on Super Record cranks.
One surprising bit of info is that supposedly, G Springs are no longer. The Campy guy said "in theory, they won't ever wear out." Not likely, but I want to know what's inside the shifters now. He said that no small parts catalogs were available yet, and that even he didn't know what the internals looked like.
They are working on an SRM crankset, as well as a BB30 crankset.
The shape of the hoods, while larger, is still on the slim side.
Torx bolts are becoming more and more prevalent on Campy. You will need a Torx driver to even tighten the shifter clamp.
No more unsightly humps/ bumps when the der housing is leaving the shifter.
4mm shift housing.
Index gear is seperate from the cable head anchor.
Out of the box, shifter is designed for smaller hands. A shim can be placed on the bottom side of the shifter body to push the levers out.
