my wife wanted to hear the guitar. she wasn't with me when I bought it, and we're both WFH today (kids at school). she thought it was cool. i told her i'm probably going to want one too, she didn't say no.

What are we looking at for your guitar options? Strat? Les Paul? Jackson?
thinking strat to start? when my kids outgrow the mini-strat it would also probably help with the jump to a full size guitar. eventually once i get some proficiency some flavor of les paul.
@jonKranked if you could manage to learn on a guitar with a tremolo, I've got something for ya that might work. Not a basic guitar but I got it in trade from Washburn for some work years ago so I have nothing into it at this point years later. LMK

I realized I never posted an update. I wound up getting myself a Squire Classic Vibes 70s for Xmas. My kids got a mini strat.

In tariff news, my next guitar will get 25% more expensive as of Saturday since it’s coming from Canada. I guess MIM Fender instruments will go up, possibly enough to make MIA comparable… unless they do a full product line price adjustment.
Its amazing when someone has a small, odd idea, and actually manifests it into a very polished product like this.
Well. It won’t ship for a few months, so maybe things will get sorted out before that happens.
