Isn't humping in railroad terms sorting cars by uncoupling them and pushing them over a hump so they separate and you can sort them onto different tracks? I remember reading that in some book i had as a kid...

it is. and that is what they mean and the sign is on both ends onf that car . but it just struck me as funny . and it was also a funny co-incidance because I was on my was to a Model railroad show at the Big E.
