I think this was a pretty interesting thread. I was on holiday while most of it went on, so I missed a good deal of it. Now I mostly don't care, but I am still lightly shocked by people like greyhound's inability to empathise or understand what had actually occurred in the world.

Question is, this was now the best part of a year ago. With the continued 'exuberance' of the white house (gets lower case now) does this surprise you? Does the media still spin like this? Do people still see themselves as 'seperate' to the world somehow?

Well other than the internal Palestinian implosion, things seem to have been relatively quiet from that part of the world recently. Of course it's just a matter of time before things go doolally again. Nothing has fundamentally changed.
