..and it totally sucked ass. It was a poorly done "Traffic" wanna be. Very disappointed that it didn't live up to the hype.

Now I know why it sucked at the box office. I give it 2 of 5 stars.

However, we watched Sex and Lucia last night and all was forgiven.

Syriana had the potential to be awesome, but it dragged far too much and was far too disjointed to be of interest to most people.

Accurate reflection of who Che was or not? i.e. do you think the man (character) in that movie reflected who he became?

I viewed it as simply a good movie... a story about a couple of young rich kids who had an adventure.

Was it an accurate portral of Che or not...? I can't say, since I've never thought about him before. I'm sure there is some truth to it though along with the mythology.

I don't think calling it a "Traffic wannabe" can really be considered a valid criticism since the director of Traffic was an executive producer for Syriana and the screenplay writer for Traffic was the director and writer for Syriana. The styles are similar because they were made by the same people.

Not that I thought Syriana was a great movie...it was just okay...

I think the real issue might be if the current understanding of Che by millions of people actually reflects who he was. The movie, in some ways, gave the people what they wanted.

Regardless of whether the movie is accurate, it surely does not portray his more ruthless side.

I quite liked Syriana. I think it helped a lot that I read a thing about the plot beforehand. I can see how it would be hard to follow otherwise. You kinda need to know what's happening in advance, which I guess is not a great thing for a movie.

I read that the movie was supposed to leave you kind of confused as to what was going on with the international oil cartels and who was actually responsible for what, because that's the way the oil industry really is. It was kind of frustrating to watch, but ultimately I really liked it because it didn't offer any simplistic Michael Moore-like criticisms and answers. It just made you want to ask more of your own questions.

Btw, Traffic was pretty sucky as well. Much like Syriana.
What? Man you must have been abducted and had your brain effed with by them A51 guys. :bonk:

Haven't seen Syriana, gonna dl it soon. But I wan't to recomend A Constant Gardener and Crash, as I think they are by far the best films I've seen this year.

What hype? They hype I get about it is that is was boring as ****, and it was. After it was over my wife said, "What was that movie about?". And then I had to try to explain and it was hard because I blacked out at least twice.
