So like many amurikans, I did buy 2 tickets for megamillions (1 set having to do with Alaina's bday, the other with our anniversary). Going through emails this morning, wife tells me to check tickets, as she sees on tv the numbers start with 8 and 14. I check, and lo and behold, we have 4 of the 6!!! Worth $413, too!!!! Though it's probably just enough to get us to break even for all the tickets we've bought over the years, it's still a great way to start my day, and I wanted to share with the RM collective.....

Thank you, Alaina!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I threw in a buck on 30 tickets for our office pool.

We won $6.

So I guess someone owes me $0.20.

Another lottery-related quote I like:

"The chances of winning the lottery are not significantly affected by whether or not you have a ticket."

Edit: some more gold:

"Lotteries are nothing more than a state-sanctioned numbers racket."

"Lotteries make probability ignorance a crime and the ticket price is the fine."

Regardless of what you poo-poo-ers say (thanks AMS), wifey and I just had a nice relaxing over-nighter in Reno by way of the winnings. I know, $400 won't make much of a dent in the debt, however, to see those numbers in the morning was really cool, and to know the trip was paid for was a treat.

I just hope Dirt approved of our location...............
