I won my first race this weekend. It was the stump jump in SC.It should be called the 9 miles of mud. I did a ride with Herndon on wed. befor the race and he gave me some good tips. Thanks to Sycamore Cycles for the support.
Hey Biggins, you should be proud being my troop leader!
congrats. I love that course. Raced there a ton of times. Gotta love that mud though. The only time I've been there when it was dry was last year. Which way did you race it? Clockwise or Counter? I prefer clockwise, where you start out by getting onto the powerline trail.
He started out in the age group above me but he finished behind me by a good bit. They gave him a podium in our age group, it's cool we all had fun.
Mike, we ran clockwise.
Good Job!!
I hope you had a great time. You are on the right track,
talking to Herndon and rocking out the Sycamore jersey.
I was gonna race there but I got banged up at Massa the day before.
The Stump Jump is in my back yard.
And believe it or not, that place is bone dry 90% of the time.
It just happens to rain every time they have a race.
Oh well, I am going out there today.

most mentally demanding loop I've ever done next to that crazy trail in Waxhaw, NC. Turn, turn, turn, turn, turn back, over root, pedal up hump, coast down backside of hump, pedal, flat turn into 90 degree uphill hump, across root, right hander around tree back down again...turn left, right, left again...manual over rock, bang root while turning left back to uphill hump, back down hump to s turn....
"somebody let me off the ride...think I'm gonna puke...
