I was watching a YouTube ice hockey punchathon and I was surprised that there seems to be some kind of rule that even though you can punch f*ck out of some poor cunt if ya belt him with ya stick that's bad form. The fact is it is agains the rules in hockey to fight but they basically let it happen, a lot of crap semi-pro leagues promote it. One such league guarantees a fight or your money back. So they get the players to fight then stick them in the penalty box. Not to mention most Hockey fights are just pussy slap fests as they don't really want to hurt anyone, just trying to pump up their team or some other horse****.

Its entertainment as far as Im concerned. These are pro athletes paid to perform on a high level and excite their fans. To sell tickets and jerseys. Hockey fights, as you noted, are mostly little sissy fights anyway, so big deal. Rarely are people seriously injured and its bascially consensual so why does it matter? I think its silly you get arrested for a true "lets step out side" fight too.

Most baseball fights like that are slap/kick fights. Best ever was Nolan Ryan - a guy 15 years younger than him charged the mound. He smiled, slugged the guy in the face, then got him in a headlock.
