Ok, I admit I am an idiot...not realizing I put a SRAM chain on my bike I accidentally pushed out one of the pins when fixing a broken derailleur hanger.

How do I replace the missing pin. I tried to reinsert it but it shot out of the tool and is lost.

From everything thing I've read Shimano replacement pin will not work.

What do I do?

Thanks I am a total dumbo.

Wait is SRAM the one with the master link?

i tihnk the ML's are expensive compared to a whole new chain

but it should work if you just get a new ML

if you want to use a pin, just make sure the shimano pin you are going to use is the same length as the pins allready in your chain. It should work with no problem if it is.

Forget the Shimano pin. If it's an 8-speed chain get the silver SRAM PC link. If it's 9-speed, get the gold one. Don't take chances with your chain.
