My g/f got this as a mass email, maybe some of you have seen it.
Don't know how else it would have been phrased, but the first line is interesting, "....moved from simple dissent...." The author makes it sound as if France is a state in our union, or a minority voting judge on one of our high courts. "They've exercised the right we've given them, but now they've gone too far."

I don't know about the weapons claim, maybe that is a good reason to try and boycott a whole country

Can I watch Round 4 (New Zealand) of the WRC tonight if it features Michelin tires and Citroen cars? Oh please Mr.Email, frivolously restrict my business!

I love how dumbfools think they can impact global politics. In the cafeteria today they had CNN on and it showed some idiots from Georgia pouring french wine down a gutter and yelling "Boycott France!" So my friend gets up and screams at the TV "hey @$$holes! you already paid for it!" It was quite funny at the time.

I love the way that they keep listing different brands of Champagne. That's redundant, isn't it?

It's going to be interesting to see how we deal with China or India becoming the next superpower. If we don't turn the Korean peninsula into nuclear slag first, of course.

Not to get all engineer or anything...but how exactly would someone boycot Airbus? I would think that less than half of the travelling population knows what kind of airplane they are on. Then those that do, a large portion would only know what it was after they'd boarded.

Then what? "Ommigosh!! Let me off!"

Ironically.....and I can't say this with 100% certainty. But Air France uses Boeing aircraft exclusively. If not exclusively, then pretty damned close. So how 'bout that for a paradox?

Aren't some bits of the Airbus built in the UK anyway? You guys like us now (the US ones, not necessarily the Canadians, particularly the French Canadians..), shouldn't you be on a 'buy UK goods' drive?

Go on, you know it makes economic sense to support your allies, English wine anyone??

You'd think that Champagne would be implied (except that these people probably don't know where that is).
I have some, just off the top of my head, that should probably be added to that list:

Louisiana
Statue of liberty
lots of bosch parts (best way to do this is to stop driving your car, or using any auto whatsoever)

Entirely moronic.

MMMMMMMM!! Yummers!

Or how about this? CATIA is made my Dassault (a french company). Boeing airplanes, Chrysler automobiles, (I'm pretty sure GM and Ford too), Pratt and Whitney engines etc etc etc......All designed using CATIA.

NOW what are we gonna do???

And isn't Chevrolet a french name?

Wow this ban must actually be working. I am looking for a new car but have not been able to find a Peugeot or Renault dealer anywhere. With out French cars how am I supposed to get my highly unreliable European automobile fix?

add another CAD dork....

and don't forget, don't fly on an airbus, drink wine, have blasphemous french fries (or should I say freedom fries, what a hoax) or see the statue of liberty. Hey, I know while we're at it, why don't we boycott the Canadians too, some of them speak french. Hell, lets just boycott the rest of the world, we already started with the UN. Americans can't leave a job undone.

Do what you will, but I'll never stop using Michelin tires. :D

What bothers me are people boycotting french businesses here in North America. These people have no connection to how the French government is acting.

Is it safe to buy French again? I want some Mephisto shoes but I also want to be politically correct. What should I do?
You should buy some Fluevogs. Much better style than Mephistos anyday.
