IE popups when using Netscape

I've got some issues here. I've run the latest versions of both Ad-aware and Spybot which have cleared up a lot, but I still have random IE popups when I'm not even using IE. If I could, I would just turn off IE so it can't work at all; all I use is Netscape anyway.

I have a few seemingly random folders in program files that I cannot delete, such as "glue knob soap" and "part scr balm" containing files such as "bleh film.exe" and "multi ante four.exe." I get an error saying access is denied when I try to delete them. What do you all think? How can I delete these folders? Do you think this is were the popups are coming from?

I really hope some of you all can help. I've tried getting some help on some tech forums, but I guess I don't speak geek well enough.

IE, Netscape... why do you people punish yourselves like that

first, run your PC in safe mode -- hit F8 several times when starting up your PC and choose that option.

then delete those offending files and folders.

re-run spybot & ad-aware (with most recent versions)

then go to...

http://www.mozilla.org/ -- download and install Firefox
... this is a browser like IE/Netscape, but it's far far more secure (harder for spyware to penetrate), plus it's just better.

http://texturizer.net/firefox/extensions/ -- load some plug-ins like ad-blocker and others that will make your 'net life better

ive actually been getting quite a few aim related popups lately. they are annoying. especially those video adds that make those sounds. if you leave the buddy list open long enough while those are playing then they will open up a popup. least thats what i have found to happen.
