Spd's will be great in texas. No similarities between the feel or action of Spd-sl and Spd though. Times and Crank Bros rule in the rest of the country though...

I bought my RXS Carbons from someone up there on eBay. Less than wholesale.

ATACS! Used Candy's and Eggs and went back to Times. Way better pedal IMHO. Entry and exit is much more positive feeling.

I'll second that. I've also seen too many CB pedals destroyed from rocks. Times just take years of abuse, they're great.

I like spd's and use them on all my bikes, including my road bikes, because I use the same shoes. It is true, however, that I don't ride in the mud all that often.
