Watchin' you. Writing it all down.
he is going to end up with a serious news program on a big network.

Jon Stewart welcomed Pakistan’s president to “The Daily Show” on Tuesday with tea and a Twinkie.

President Gen. Pervez Musharraf’s tete-a-tete with Stewart on the Comedy Central program was even more unlikely than the much-anticipated meeting between Musharraf, Afghan President Hamid Karzai and President Bush, planned for Wednesday.

I was impressed with Musharraf, but again, Stewart cant interview for crap sometimes. Cutting off the Pres. several times mid-sentence, etc...
If he just got the fundamentals down he wouldnt be so bad. He asks pretty decent questions sometimes.

.
I remember you saying that before and when I watched him before I thought you were right. He doesn't really have his timing down, doesn't know when to speak and when to shut up.

Ya but he's a comedia, not a classical, serious journalist. I do agree however, it gets pretty damn annoying at times.

He has a quick mind however. Interviewing people like that is NOT simple.

I think most of his crappy interviewing comes from the fact that he's got 0.003 milliseconds to complete an interview. They need to mix up their format a bit and have some extended visits every once in a while. His show (well, since he took over) has always needed to be an hour.

I wonder if it pisses off all the "serious" journos at CNN that far and away the best show on the whole network is basically a pisstake of the news. Kind of ironic really.

I think a few of the cnn shows (cnn presents for example) are pretty decent. They are one sided, no doubt, but the stories they present in the program are usually decent. I also like anderson cooper 360 for the comedy.

Always depresses me when I'm watching the BBC and it's something truly excellent like the "Facing the Truth" series and then I switch over to CNN and see Solenoid O'Brien moistening her frilly pink knickers over the latest celebrity scandal.
I do however like the fruity Pommy bloke that does the travel show, can't remember his name.

#1. Brite Hume is not a name. It's something my cat did in the litter box this morning.

#2. Tucker Carlson is one of the largest wastes of oxygen this country has seen in a long time. He cries himself to sleep at night while wearing a pressed and lightly starched nighty w/ a bow tie.

i no longer have a cat, but i do recall her little muffins. does this read like cat$hit?
Hume serves as anchor of "Special Report with Brit Hume," the highest rated political program on cable television, which airs weekdays on FOX News Channel (FNC) from 6-7 p.m. ET. He is also a regular panelist on FOX’s weekly public affairs program, "FOX News Sunday." In addition to covering major political stories and contributing news analysis to FOX News Channel, Hume is responsible for overseeing news content for FOX News' Washington, D.C., bureau.

Before joining FOX News in 1996, Hume was with ABC News for 23 years, serving as chief White House correspondent from 1989 through 1996. During his tenure, he contributed to "World News Tonight with Peter Jennings," "Nightline" and "This Week" as well as various specials for the news division. Hume joined ABC in 1973 as a consultant for the network’s documentary division and was named a Washington correspondent in 1976. He was later promoted to Capitol Hill correspondent and reported on Congress until 1988.

Earlier, Hume reported for United Press International (UPI.) He began his career as a newspaper reporter with The Hartford Times and the Baltimore Evening Sun.

Hume has received numerous honors and awards, including the 2003 Sol Taishoff Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism from the National Press Foundation. He also received a 1991 Emmy Award for his coverage of the Gulf War and was twice named "The Best in the Business" by the American Journalism Review for his extensive news coverage of the White House. Hume is the author of two books; "Inside Story" and "Death and the Mines."

A graduate of the University of Virginia, Hume resides in Washington, D.C., with his wife Kim Schiller Hume, FOX News’ vice president and Washington, D.C., bureau chief.
let me guess: it's all the F-bombs in his bio you find repugnant. if so, what shall we then do with all the liberals on the fox payroll? and then: what shall CNN do w/ all the right-leaning hosts?

apart from his nocturnal acrimonious habits, what about his libertarian presentation do you find consistently faulty? as a matter of record, he's more razor sharp than when he was on PBS, where i first watched him (& fareed).

Ugh....it has nothing to do about the network that he's on. I couldn't care less about network agendas and the internal power struggles that t.v. stations go through.

I dislike almost all television "correspondents" due to the fact that they're reduced to sound bites that will make people stand up and say, "God damn it, he's right!! Wait...what did he say...well...he's right anyway." And then they read nothing more into the subject that they're so vehemently for (or against...). It's the same thing on every newz channel. They need mindless drivel to fill time, why not get someone that can kinda-sorta give good face time with Willy Wonka.....

This is the same reason I don't listen to sports radio. Just a bunch of posturing and arguing. Save the analysis for people that actually have the raw data....not someone-that-read-a-report-somewhere-that-said-something-but-has-to-disagree-out-of-principle.

There's a reason I sleep in on Sunday and only get up when the game starts.
