if her religious views are relevant, are obama's? if her views are derived from her church, are his as well?

if it matters, then it matters.

There is a difference between having religious beliefs and having those beliefs form your political ideology. Two people can agree that an act is a sin but not agree that sin should be made illegal.

so what yous are saying is that obama isn't a man of his convictions? or are you saying that he'll get right w/ God after he's done saving the country?

i'm not calling into question his beliefs (they can never be absolutely known, and may even become more defined as he ages), but that you actually believe his belief system is "in check"

that's odd to me.

If someone doesn't further develop their beliefs as they age, I run the other way. Much like I didn't stop learning after high school and will continue to learn until dead.

Have you not further developed (or even chose to question) your own beliefs as you age? Or did you learn all you needed to know at Sunday School?

I have no idea where I am
Palin, if in office, would most definitely seek to interject her extreme religious ideals into her decision making.

Obama would weigh the consequences of imposing his religious views.

The difference between the two is that one understands the importance of separation of church and state and the other one sees no problem in combining the two.

my grandparents became more racist as they aged.

they have sunday school for all ages, so i guess my "indoctrination" is ongoing

but then again, my church shares a wall w/ planned parenthood (seriously), so my very salvation can be called into question

So even your grandparents progress as well.

I guess my point was more "Is it ALL you learn at Sunday School, or do you take life lessons and other forms of education into account?" So a person only needs to attend one school to be educated, right?

When she was mayor she made rape victims pay for the rape kit.....those things run about 2K.....

That's pretty sick.
you ought to at lest get it right before you let your insecurity build up..

Palin's police chief in Wasilla did that. She had nothing to do with it.

Wasilla Police Chief Charlie Fannon does not agree with the new legislation, saying the law will require the city and communities to come up with more funds to cover the costs of the forensic exams.

In the past weve charged the cost of exams to the victims insurance company when possible. I just dont want to see any more burden put on the taxpayer, Fannon said.

According to Fannon, the new law will cost the Wasilla Police Department approximately $5,000 to $14,000 a year to collect evidence for sexual assault cases.

Ultimately it is the criminal who should bear the burden of the added costs, Fannon said.

It is really hard to keep track of all the things that I'm sure were going on in her bustling, fast-paced metropolis of 7,000 people so I can understand how that one would have slipped by her, especially when she has nothing to do with budgeting. I can also understand how as mayor she has no influence over the policies of the PD and so even after she became aware of the policy, there was nothing she could do about it.

I am going to play along with this one.

Let's say Palin is a real, viable candidate for the Vice Presidency; let's say she is as qualified as Biden or Obama to be President.

Let her go on a round of interviews, starting with Meet The Press followed up by the O'Reilly Report, The Newshour with Jim Lehrer, and a townhall meeting with undeclared voters.

What I find despicable with the Republicans is their attempt to discredit the "Mainstream Media" as some poor representation of the American people. What they are really doing is sheltering Palin from being vetted by the most respected reporters in America and Bill O'Reilly.

I love to see a townhall format, so she can talk to the people directly.

When she does all of that, which McCain, Obama, and Biden have all done, then get back to me if she is as experienced as Obama.
