DT hubs with a RR415 rim and Sapim spokes. Butted of some kind

Just built a 240 frt 190 rear with these and Laser spokes. 28 hole 2x frt 3x rear for 1414 grams. Durable and light

I'd look at DuraAce tubeless, but still like classicish wheels.

Like my Zipp Team Issues, but have had some grief with non drive side rear spokes loosening.

Dura-Ace scandium tubeless.

Smooth bearings tubeless options, reasonably light.
:stupid:

I'm really a fan of the Dura-Ace carbon clinchers on my Felt. They're quite light and seem well-built. Time will tell if they're durable, though being a Shimano product I'd expect them to be.

Durace hubs with 32 3x revolution spokes on Open Pro ceramic rims.
Those wheels will easily last 20 years as long as you maintain the hubs once a year.

I would like to run a pair of those on my next cross bike, I would like to know if the carbon would hold up to my riding without having to pay for them if they break.

Seconded, but I'd probably go with the carbon version. So light, so great. That said, I have the alloy ones on one of my bike, love 'em.

This is pretty much my dream wheelset, they will last forever, and look great doing it. I heard there were some issues with recent OP ceramic rims though, with flaking. Someday I'll finally pull the trigger on these.

James,
After talking with the US SSC director yesterday, he's confirmed with me that they've rectified the flaking issues.
Oh, I'm sure they are, I wasn't afraid they weren't. Just something to be aware of if you're in the market right now.

Hmm, maybe I'll go search eBay for a set now...me want!

The Lew wheels...then I could sell them and buy several pairs! :D For me it would be DA hubs laced to Mavic Open.....smooth hubs and it would be reliable.

I have a pair of ultegra 600s on open pros. 10,000 plus miles under me and I bought them used from someone else 18 months ago as part of a complete bike. They are finally wearing out because some of the nipples have seized to the spokes and the rims themselves.

Anyways, one wheelset would be kinlin xr-270s, 24 and 28 revolution spokes, DA front hub and powertap rear.

I have 2x 32h ceramic openpro's, 2x 28h cxp33's and 2x28h Kinlin 270's coming to the shop right now. They are all going on Shimano hubs that are between 10 and 15 years old. They will all weigh less than 1500 grams, be nice and stiff and lively, and be darn bomproof. When you sponsor lots of riders, you need lots of good training/race wheels. Otherwise everyone always takes the nice stuff of your bike when you go to the bathroom.

I used to love Open Pros, but every set I've had ticked.
