So I was in Supergo last night and the Hollowpoints caught my eye. I've been looking for a new trail bike and those look decent. Can you get them frame only? Can you buy them from a dealer who knows how to assemble a bike. I think every single bike I looked at on the floor had an assembly issue.

Those bikes can be picked up so dirt cheap it's almost worth the time it would take to strip everything down and rebuild it right. I've even considered buying one, keeping the components and selling the frame, or the other way around, you can't really loose because they're such a good value. IIRC there are other places that sell IH and supposedly IH will let their regular dealers compete with supergo's prices, I've heared that LBS's can even beat supergo's prices if you can find a LBS that will carry them.

Iron Horse is doing so many things right, it's really sad that they turned off so many LBS's by getting in bed with Supergo.

my hollowpoint expert is an absolut dream, i love going for xc ride on this thing because i can just sit down and couch ride or get out of the saddle and attack, it weighs about 27.5lbs (with hutchinson scorpion tires) and descends like a 6 inch bike

my only recommendation would be to upgrade to heavier springs, i'm 180lb and the springs in the 19 bike were too soft

That's what I was considering doing. Buying the bike and striping it. Sell all the parts on ebay and build the frame up. I might even be able to come out ahead.
