I can get a new 2004 IH sgs dh worldcup for 3100$, im looking for a first dh bike, but I want something that I can keep for atleast 1.5 years without replacing.
do I have anything to worry about because of the 1 year frame warrenty and invest my money in something else like Specialized which gives a lifetime warrenty ?

You shouldn't have any problems getting a few seasons out of any bike. Even with a 1 year warranty, most companies will hook you up even after that 1st year is over.
$3100 sounds decent for a bike with that good of a parts spec.

Go for it.
The bike has a very strong frame, as well as the rear linkage/suspension tuned and refined by Dave Weagle. The World Cup has a top notch parts spec, and the frame will last a long time. The Specialized warranty only covers manufacturing defects, not frame breakage due to crashing, hucking, etc. The dudes at IH have a great warranty service and are cool to talk to. You shouldn't have any problems with the bike, it rocks!

Nop,
DW designed the linkage plates for the SGS, as well as refining the existing frame, with larger volume chainstays and, if i'm not mistaken, a custom drawn tubeset on the '04. :thumb: It's good stuff.

i got me one of those, i love it, so i would recommend it to you

according to the person i got it from, if the frame breaks after the 1 year, iron horse will give you a discount on a new frame. good for me considering i cracked my last frame in about 10 places, no joke.
