Stay in the parking lot. Its free, close to town, and has hot showers right. Check out Roberto's burritos on the right before you turn off to Bootleg (if you are coming from Vegas).
Yep, camping is allowed. Stayed there just a couple of weeks ago. There are 2 stone parking lots on your left as you drive up to the ramada/bathroom/shower. There's also BBQs (charcoal) right at the ramada. I've learned that staying in the lower parking area shelters better from the wind if its kicking. Have fun!
