President Bush has not visited SF during his term in office. He would be the only President since Calvin Coolidge not to visit the city.
Now I know that many people, particularly conservatives, like to paint the locals as hippie freaks, homos, and ultra-liberals. I would agree that many of the residents are exactly that.
What I strongly disagree with is that we are irrelevant.
I have lived on all three coastlines of the US, and I respect the opinions, and more importantly, the actions of my fellow Bay Area people. While protests and community service might be ridiculed, I DON'T SEE ANYONE ELSE DOING ANYTHING TO STOP THE BUSH REGIME.
I think if more Americans spoke up against Bush and the War on Iraq, then we wouldn't be in this predicament.
