No reply from e13 boys.

Setup/Imperial/STS/LX Octalink 1.

What length BB? Tried 73/118 but the granny ring tabs crush against the boomerang.

Anyone running Octalink on e13?

Same problem on my Tomac Moah.
NorthShores/Truvativ 73/118
Tabs crush against boomerang. Now bearing in mind i had this setup on my imperial and it was spaced fine. I buy a new BB (same as before) try to install on the Tomac, and it all goes FUBAR.

Do i really need to go 73/128?!

Or am i being special?

Not sure why you haven't gotten a reply from Jonas, seems strange; maybe he's out of the office.

Seems bizarre that two totally different setups are having the same problem. I ran a 118 Octalink setup with my DRS and had tons of clearance.

Have you measured the BB to make sure you didn't get the wrong one? Can you post some pictures of it?

edit: Are you sure you're mounting the BB the right way? The drive side is the "fixed" side of the BB, you're not putting the cup in there, right?

yes im sure its the right way and the right side, the L & R and 73/118 confirm this.

im running it - boomerang atm, the granny tabs are only 3/4mm from the BB/ISCG plate on the LX.

the tomac, old bb fine, new bb tits up..

Do you still have the old BB? You should compare the two and see if there's some dimensional difference between the two.

I don't know about your BB issues, but my advice would be to start with the obvious; your granny ring tabs. I don't see it in the new instructions, but in older versions, you were instructed to remove them, as they have no place on a DH/single ring set-up. Have a friend with access to a milling machine take them off for you, or if you have to do so carefully with a sharp hand file and/or dremel.

Ricky :)

Hey Wys -

Sorry about the delay in my response. We've had the support truck up in Bromont Canada for the race this past weekend. I've usually on the road with my laptop, but this weekend wound up being an exception. We left on thursday night and I guess I hadn't gotten you email until then.

Your setup - the Northshore cranks and sometiomes the Shimano ones need to have the granny ring bolt tabs ground down or cut off to get the crankset, and bashguard more specifically, close enough to the upper wearplate to get proper tolerance. You want the upper wearplate to fall within a couple mm's of the inside of the bashguard to get 100% security. Unfortunately it ssems you have two of these cranks which is just a coincidence. Both will obviously be left to running only middle and outer rings from here on out.

to the rest of you - thanks for jumping in for me - I appreciate the help.

Regards,
Jonas

what i was sayin was the NS combo worked fine on the imperial.

anyway, i went back to the workshop yesday now i was chilled out. found what i thought was the old BB that had worked, banged it in and put everything together and it worked fine. 5 mins later i find the actual old BB on the bench, so feck knows why it wouldnt work before and did now...me stressin at it prob, but 3 ppl looked at it and couldnt get it to work...

looks like its dremel time for the LX....
