So anyone else out there ride a Surly Instigator? just wondering if anyone feels the same way about theirs as I do about mine. I lovess my bike....I was recently offered about 300 bucks over what I paid for the overall bike when I was done building it, and the thought of selling it didnt even cross my mind. Its like being in a really good relationship except for the constant beatings.

Note. If you are a dumbass and bought the bike in any color except Orange... I fell sorry for you.

P.S: This is what the Alphabet would look like if 'Q' and 'R' were eliminated.

Its just diffrent, every bike out there is red, black, etc. Frame builders rarley go out on a limb with colors, if you remember , Specialized had a rockhopper that was bright Green. I thought that was the coolest thing ever. In the long run it doesnt matter, since the bike is always covered in mudd.

So basicly, the reason I like the orange Instagatior, is that its somewhat uniquie, if you buy the bike in Black it kinda kills half of its charm. I dont have any weird fettish with the color orange, frankly I like blue a little better. does that make a little more sence?

Perfect sense. If I ever get an Instigator, I will not be a dumbass and will get orange. :thumb:

Everyone knows that chrome is teh fastAr.

Pfft. Because of doppler shift the speed of a color is relative. An object coming towards you will have the wavelength of light it reflects shortened, pushing the color towards the blue end of the spectrum. An object travelling away from you is shifted towards the red end of the spectrum. Therefore the fastest bike is painted blue in the front and red in the back.

Yet color is limited within the range of the electromagnetic spectrum. Therefore, colors, sounds, or even wavelengths that we no nothing of could exist, and be as fast or faster than the blue/red bike. One could now conclude with scientific evidence that grey is still faster. The blue/red bike could only exist if it was manufactured by Kona under the name Super Stab Supreme.

Modern science has a firm grast of the electromagnetic spectrum. It could be easily summed up by including all wavelengths from 0 to infinity. However since modern physics defines the universal maximum speed limit at the speed of light, if a bike were to theoretical exceed this speed it would create a singularity. Of course nothing within this singularity is observable it would simply appear black. So realisticly the blue/red bike is fastest but in a theoretical manner black is fastest.

I'm not a fan of the Instigator. The geometry doesn't work for me. Too tall of a bike for that short of a top tube. I'm selling my frame for $300.

P.S.
I got rid of the orange and had mine powder coated metalic gray.

I need to help get this post back on track. Unlike CF, I rather liked the geometry of the Instigator. It was a royal pain to climb up the hill, but I really felt at home when I took the baby downhill. FYI, I am 6' and rode a 16" Surly. I would totally buy back CF's Instigator for how much I sold it to him... he heh, gotta try bro.
