So far, not too much that I have seen has been that exciting. Last year we had Saint and new Diabolus stuff for components. New frames from SC and Specialized. I have been waiting for this one though, the production Knolly V-tach's.

i was told by someone close to Rob Roscop that SC was going to be releasing a new VPP frame, and have been excited about that since March-ish. nothing new from SC, though, except the HT.

maybe it because i'm finally happy with my bikes?
you talking about the 6" blur? they are working on one, it's just not ready for prime time yet.

The gearbox hasn't hit primetime yet. When i actually see the hondas in a store, then the time has come. The rest of these things are in no way a gearbox. They are internal derrailleurs, weirdly placed rear hubs etc. Just gimmicks.
The Be-One/Hayes version was very bitchin, simple and practical to manufacture.

personally, the best thing about going to Interbike is SWAG....it never seems to get old. I took this year off b/c I'm moving and stuff, just couldn't afford the time or money. I did notice that things seemed to slow down as far as innovation after 2001. Of course that was the first year I went and there was a lot of things I learned about suspension, construction, and manufacturers. I may go next year just so I can fill up my sticker box again...who knows...

Who's the noob with the tude?

The point (though I'm not sure why I'm taking the time to explain it) is that the bike industry is filled with fired up, super passionate, blazingly fast people who are doing this because they freakin love it.

Marshall likes to shoot his mouth off from time to time. He's angry that the rest of the world has yet to conform to the way he thinks we all ought to think.

Who the prick who doesn't realise he acts a dick? So I'm the noob with the tude, thankyou. I rather like speaking my mind, and wont take no BS off some ononymous fopol on an internet forum. Well I'm with Marshall on this one, the mtb business is a rip-off over-hyping, over-rated, pretentious industry, hes right to say what he did.

Looks like you should use lose the 'tude, boyo! :thumb:

Sideways, your idealistic outlook on life cannot be applied to the real world. Whatever world you do live in, appreciate it, because the world DOES inherently use a system of economics in which business is a part of.

I always love your stereotypes. You sound like a stoned 16 year old when you post here...

I agree, you speak of this industry like it's your ex girlfriend who cheated on you and left you for someone else!

Over hyped?
Over rated?
pretentious?

Harsh words brother...nobody is making you participate, and I can promise you Sideways utopia makes a lot of real world sense. (insert rolleyes here)

The fact of it is, its all about the mula, and to get said mula one must overhtpe, over-rate, over publicise, over advertise every god damnmtb product. The fact its the main players, big brands who do it the most, proves summat. Go figure.

So no more tears Damn True and neversummersnow. No need to cry because someone has the guts to speak their mind because they are fed-up with all the over-hyped, marketed crap we pay so much for. Truths hurts, like I care!

Fox - One of the most innovative suspension manufacturers in the industry, great supporter of grassroots racers.
Answer/Manitou - Excellent OEM partner, quality shocks. Made some bold moves with forks.
Rockshock - Another great OEM partner. Extremely generous in racer support.
Hayes - Quality product. Excellent distribution. Great retailer support.
Avid - Value leader.
Progressive - Cutting edge shock tech made more accesible every year.
I don't see what your gripe is with any of these companies.
Clearly you are

hitman,

My point is this industry is not as lucrative as you percieve it to be. It's run by a bunch of people who have a passion for the sport but not the most savvy businessmen. The high prices come back to low volume and lots of companies producing similar product.

In truth, its a bunch of guys fighting for a big piece of a small pie. If you're sick of "over hyped" product, learn about something before you buy it! I seriously doubt your buying based on hype anyway. Can't blame the guys to try and use some fundemental marketing sense to make a profit!

Just so you know, it really does put you in your place when you choose words as you choose and make personal attacks on ME not WHAT I'm SAYING!!! Nothing wrong with disagreeing, just do it in a civilized, mature manor...it really shows your intellectual capacity.

Just so you know, I'm a college student who has a pretty good idea of the dynamics of the industry. By that I mean I have evidence to support my claims. I don't plan on making my living in the industry or anymore than a shop hourly wage through college.

One more thing, until you actual go and design and produce something better than those companies you named off produce, keep it to yourself! They all make product that performs better than any product did 4 years ago!

so that leaves marzocchi, avalanche, and hope (maybe white bros) to take care of yr suspension and braking needs.

so throw a set of mono6s on yr endless hardtail, and a marz66 on the front, and have fun.

wait, are shimano or SRAM overrated hype machines too? if so, good luck using the fred flintstone mode of propulsion.

Nope, not even many of them: they're evil too.

From Marshalls own website:

Endless Bike Co. refuses to accept the bicycle industry’s trend towards overseas manufacture. We have shaken the hands that build our bikes, and they are attached to good people who live right here in North Carolina.

USA made may be more expensive than Taiwan made, and we could easily sell you a much less expensive product by simply sending our business overseas, but in the end we all end up with less.

Why buy domestically produced products? What goes around comes around. You send your hard earned money off to the Far East and it's gone for good....as are the jobs that could have been kept here at home.

6% unemployment is simply unacceptable (as is the fact that more US tax dollars are spent on Israel than on our domestically unemployed, but that's another problem altogether).
That's one in every seventeen people without a job....think about it!

We beg you; Please see that the true cost of foreign made bicycles is far higher than the sticker price!

Btw, last time I checked it was 5.4%. And, last time I checked, no president, democrat or republican, ever gave me a job. I went out and got it myself.

But I digress to another forum

I was very excited to see the new ellsworths couse I've heard that there would be new models and some improvements to the old ones. The distance was nice and I saw a new XC ht called enlightment.

But the bikes I was looking for was Dare and Specialist but with no success. That's kinda strange that people don't publish photes of ellsworth's dh frame and their hardtail. Or maybe I'm just blind.
You will probably not see any pics of his stuff on this board, beacuse a lot of monkeys :monkey: don't like Ellsworth. He is such a lying a$$hole, most people could care less about his bikes, no matter how nice they "might" be.

Fu@k Ellsworth!!!!! :mumble:

(sorry, I was having a knucle moment...)

I think a city with a motto of "What happens in vegas, stays in vegas" Is much more attractive than a city with 50 miles of paved bike lanes for granola eating 10 speed commuters.

What I'd really like to see would be some NEW stuff from Rohloff (Other than G-Boxx related stuff) Are they developing the internally geared hub any more or is all of their work focused towards Nicolai?

What I did enjoy seeing was this
