Yeah but this puts stress on the chain stays/dropouts of the frame, or so it looks. The Kadvang said:No different from a peg in a regular dropout...
Yeah, I get what you mean. To me it still seems pretty much the same thing, just moved foreward. I'm sure sinister has tested the **** out of it.Sirbikesalot33 said:Yeah but this puts stress on the chain stays/dropouts of the frame, or so it looks.
Hmm..somehow i can´t stop thinking that someone in the designdepartment at Giant is riding on a Santa Cruz VP Free... :mumble:.:Jeenyus:. said:
not that I'm an engineer or anything, but i would venture to say that NO it is not a dw link, there are lots of suspension designs that use ste same basic layout, marin(quad), sc(vpp), intense(vpp), blade(?) and i think saracen had one a couple of years ago, and to stretch tihngs i would even put the RM etx(the xc/marathon) or whatever it's called in that category.TheInedibleHulk said:The Faith is... ugly, and looks heavy. But, despite the previous statemnet about the AC, it HAS to an improvement, since AC stood for absolute crap.
Ignorant jackazz question- Are the Giants DW link bikes?? They look very similar in suspension design to the IH's to me, whats the difference? Also does anyone know if giant changed anything regarding the chainline on the DH, or did they just bend the toptube?
SC and Intense both license the VPP design.Hans said:not that I'm an engineer or anything, but i would venture to say that NO it is not a dw link, there are lots of suspension designs that use ste same basic layout, marin(quad), sc(vpp), intense(vpp), blade(?) and i think saracen had one a couple of years ago, and to stretch tihngs i would even put the RM etx(the xc/marathon) or whatever it's called in that category.
I think I kinda like that Giant faith!?

Can somebody point me to any more info on the Sinister FR bike? Their web site has old and limited stuff about it, but I want more!
I think that a lot of large companies do not want to have a competitors sticker on the frame. I would be like Chevy advertising a truck as "powered by Ford." GT ditched FSR and came up with iDrive when Specialized began enforcing the patent and stickering.Incubus said:Out of curiosity, what kind of royalty needs to be paid to specialized for the FSR link. Seems odd that they'd redesign the rear end rather than pay specialized.
Most companies understand that they can't do things as well as other in some aspects or that the customer is always right and you should give them what they want.Repack said:I think that a lot of large companies do not want to have a competitors sticker on the frame. I know about the GM/Honda deal. I think that it comes down do a decision: be ~original, or advertise someone elses design. That is funny about the stickers though. But you car still doesn't have a Honda badge anywhere on it.syadasti said:Most companies understand that they can't do things as well as other in some aspects or that the customer is always right and you should give them what they want.
My Saturn has a Honda engine, tranny, and ECU though GM doesn't advertise it in their brochure. I've seen the parts boxes before from the parts department and they are Honda boxes with Saturn stickers that don't even cover up all of the Honda print
I like the new GM Saabaru WRX wagonRepack said:I know about the GM/Honda deal. I think that it comes down do a decision: be ~original, or advertise someone elses design. That is funny about the stickers though. But you car still doesn't have a Honda badge anywhere on it.
