Okay blatant nerdism here, but just looking at the recent results from South Africa and its interesting to note for those of you who may be writing Hill off again this year that he was actually closer to winning this years event than any of the previous rounds held in South Africa.
Okay he finished 11th but only 5.8 seconds off 1st. In 2011 he was 8th but 7.4 seconds off 1st. In 2009 when he won the overall he was 4th but still 6.7 seconds off 1st. 2009 everyone was shocked he'd done so well on a course so unsuited to him, this year he has closed the gap, on paper he's in better form than when he last won the overall and you would have to say that the majority of the racers who were in front of him in South Africa would struggle to hang with the Aussie on the more technical tracks.. bring on val di sole!!
