Yesterday afternoon while driving home an AM talk radio host mentioned an old NC Law that comes into play when you vote. Seems back in the 60's a law was created that if a voter votes straight ticket (pull the R / D lever) their vote for the presidency and any judges is not cast. If a voter is going to vote straight ticket then they need to do it manually so they can get the vote for the president as well as any judges. This was further confirmed by a representative from the Charlotte board of elections. Kind of screwed up, I never pull the big lever anyhow but it's not really fair for those who do.
