The bunker at parliament
Came across this story today, I have to say it does seem to be pushing at the walls of what is allowed under the privacy laws.
What do you lot recon? Personally I'm not to keen on it at all.... The police's comments were quite telling I think.

Maarten Kleintjes, head of the police electronic crime lab, said he "wanted to have a talk" with NZfact to make sure it was not breaching the "demarcation line" between where the internet ended and the personal computer began.

"Even we can't do that," he said. "It would be like us searching every house in a street, without telling anybody and without search warrants."

=D I hear whales.... no.

I find it worrying that there are no guidlines because the phenomenon is brand new, while at the same time the anti piracy companies and the music/movie industry don't have any thoughts about crossing over peoples private lifes. Ones again the companies show they need guidlines set by politicians and that the "invicible hand" don't set things strait.

"Internet privacy" -- sounds oxymoronic.

I mean, schools and employers are now searching about their candidates on the net and finding a fair number of myspace blogs about drunk fests, private property destruction, cheating on their gfs with gf's sister.

So basically, there are a lot of BurlySurly's out there.
