All they are doing is moving the processing from the set top box into the TV, this is not new data being collected if you've ever watched cable OnDemand programming.

I think you missed the part where new TVs have mics and cameras that can record everything you do and say, even when the tv is off.

I know im not in a hurry to have one of these in my living room but most people will buy them regardless, and it will probably be the standard in a couple of years.

they have this stuff called electrical tape that you can cover a lens with and epoxy does a number on a MMike
