We have a couple good Mac Stores here in town. Sometimes Target has some stuff, but depends on the Target. Otherwise I will get stuff at Computer City. It just depends when you go there, though. You'll either get some guy who knows about Mac products or some 16 year old kid who doesn't care.stosh said:Where do you guys buy your iPod accessories besides apple.com?
Dude, thats an awsome offer but I need to get this thing up and running now. I got it used so if it doesn't work I need to strike while the iron is hot.ThePriceSeliger said:I have an extra USB cable at home, and I will be home November 19th if your willing to wait, and I will give it to you.
I went to radio shack in town here and I got some 16yr old who thought he know what he was talking about, i think thats worse.kizzi77 said:We have a couple good Mac Stores here in town. Some people can just never be pleased.stosh said:I got a USB cable at Best Buy last night and now I can upload/DL music to my IPOD. The thing that sucks is that it won't charge it.
Yeah it sucks wanting things to work like they should.Polandspring88 said:Some people can just never be pleased.
Ya know... I was getting some weird error saying the USB ports aren't 2.0, but how the heck do I change that?Full Trucker said:Didja try 'resetting' the iPod and then using the firewire cable again? Sometimes my iPod does that and it just needs a little reboot lovin', sometimes 'power cycling' the compy with the iPod plugged in works asswell. And if the USB cable isn't charging the iPod, it may be because your USB port is USB 1 or something?
Bestaluck to ya, cap'n.
That does seem strange if your compy is really new that it wouldn't have USB 2 ports or drivers or whatever installed. That being said, it does sound like it's the issue. Now, drivers and Microsoft and all of that are way past me, I'm one of them there Mac guys, hopefully you can get it working.stosh said:Ya know... The case is brand NEW!!
When I checked the drivers for my MOBO it says I need to get the USB 2.0 drivers from Microsoft and I assumed I already have them since they come with SP2 for windows.
I don't have a firewire port on my computer at home. Also it seems like a lot of people have been having firewire problems with some of the new updates for the IPOD.Full Trucker said:That does seem strange if your compy is really new that it wouldn't have USB 2 ports or drivers or whatever installed. If there's ANY way to get the Firewire working again, I'd pursue that. Much faster connection and transfers to the iPod.
Yeah I have a spot for a PCI firewire card. They're cheap and I've debated it...Bicyclist said:Do you have an open PCI slot for an add-on firewire port? Also, did you try reinstalling your iPod and iTunes software?
I've re-installed the latest.Jeff 151 said:I use a PCMCIA laptop card with a firewire port and it works great. Definitely the next thing for you to try is reinstalling the latest ipod software.
