I think we should stop our massive misinformation campaign about a country that isn't bothering or threatening us at all. We've already done it once. Learn from our mistakes people.

wow, so much ignorance...
You my friend are ignorant. The father of my girlfriend of 3 years left Iran at 18 in 1979, 1 Year before the Islamic revolution. His parents still live in Iran and the whole family travels back and forth at will. I'm going soon too. The realities of life in Iran and civilian attitude towards Americans are far different from the twisted portrayal in the media. Iran is once again situating itself as a leader of the Eastern world and the US just can't handle that. The truth is that Iran has a rich heritage as one of the most civilized nations in the world and that threatens us. They are trying desperately to pull themselves out of the dark ages and we are pushing them back in one sanction at a time. Can you really blame them for allying with Venezuela, Russia, etc. We are acting unilaterally and brashly in all international affairs. We've used up all our discretion in international affairs. We are no longer the moral nation we once were. You're probably one of the people that thinks that President Ahmadinejad is the leader of the country. Most Americans lack a very basic understanding of the Iranian power structure.

Given the nature of a lot of your posts in the PAWN forum, I'd be careful how you fling that label around. Glass houses and all that.
It's alright. Ignorant is not an insult. It does not mean "stupid." It just implies a lack of understanding of a given subject matter. I think he'll find that in this area he can't possibly win that argument with me for a number of reasons.

Our president is pretty famous for saying things we don't agree with. The difference is our president acts on them. Should they be held to a higher standard than we are? It doesn't work that way. BTW: his people don't have a regulatory capacity over him.

it's clear that these squirrels are descendants of the great fat satan:

Big Food Makes Squirrels More Vigilant
July 13, 2007 — Giving a squirrel a big, sweet cookie can be a kind gesture, and now scientists have found it also encourages the critter to watch for predators. The conclusion, in a newly published study, has implications for other species, including the survival of those facing human-caused changes to their habitats.

To get a clearer picture of just how and when squirrels choose to focus on food or predators, she and her undergraduate professor at McGill University, Donald Kramer, created an experiment that put the squirrels to the test. They placed sunflower seeds inside a two-and-a-half-foot high frame that blocked their peripheral views of the urban park in which they lived.

The idea was to force the squirrels to choose between eating and hopping out of the frame to watch for dogs, foxes and other predators.

"The squirrels never left," said Makowska. "They just ate them all. We thought this was strange."

So Makowska suggested they try giving the squirrels something that took more than a few seconds to eat, like soda crackers with peanut butter, which takes about three minutes for a squirrel to finish off.

"Lo and behold: When they ate the peanut butter crackers they moved out of the frame," said Makowska. "That confirmed to us that they valued being vigilant" even when they were eating, when the food makes it possible.

"By setting up this little test, we got them to tell us ‘Is the view important while you’re eating?’" said Kramer. "With a big food item it seems like it’s worth it to re-position."

The only person in Iran with any real power is the historically pro-American Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
I thought first you was going to mention the US's beloved puppet the Shah of Iran.. Now that you've said it's Khamenei and that he historically is pro-American makes me think (if your statement is true) he's got to be out of his mind. What the hell is the US good for eccept for its inhabitants, and in particular it's wealthy inhabitants?

Then you talk about Venezuela as it's a country led of dodgy politicians. THAT shows of ignorance and that you're a victim of media manipulation. Maybe you should get a second gf, one from the Venezuelan working class, so that she can tell you the true story of what's going on there (just like your Persian gf has done about Iran).

First of all there hasn't been a Shah in Iran since 1979 when the Islamic revolution started. It's a position that is incompatible with the new Islamic government of Iran. They have a Persian heritage but they are no longer Persian.

If you'd like to learn a thing or two about the current Supreme Leader then check the Wikipedia link in a post above. For Wikipedia it's incredibly accurate. The guy has publicly condemned Ahmadenijad's statements about the Holocaust and repeatedly made goodwill gestures towards the US. He doesn't have a tremendous amount of power in the day-to-day running of Iran but in wartime and religious matters he's the last word. Not to mention he is the only one with the capacity to remove government officials from office. The media in the US is determined to convince everyone that Ahmadinejad is in charge and that's just not the case. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is a brilliant well-educated man whose interpretation of Islam is not in the least bit radical. You do know that islam is the largest religion in the world by far? To dismiss it as uncivilized, radical, or violent is just retarded. Out of his mind? I don't think so. I assume you were alive when Clinton was impeached. Civilized nations have rules and procedures. You can't just throw someone out of office. Ahmadinejad is extremely unpopular and will be gone after the next election. If by some fluke he wasn't, I assure you, then they would act. Till then the man is no threat. He doen't have the funds or resources to pose any threat to the US. He is hardcore on the defensive right now and the media has done a good job of making that seem offensive. For example he has missiles pointed at our installations in Iraq. Well of course. We had them pointed at his years ago. That's what you attack in war, military installations. He's getting weapons from Russia. Of course. Before you're invaded you strengthen your army. WAKE UP PEOPLE. We did it first. We are the ones that are off the hook and we have been for a long time. This is just stupid. Learn something from Iraq. This is EXACTLY what happened there. Want to know a secret? I was sold on the Iraq war too. Now I'm older, smarter, more educated, and learn from my mistakes.

I mentioned Venezuela once and that was saying that Iran was allying with them. I don't really have a clue what you're talking about. When countries are threatened they ally with the enemies of their threats. The media has sensationalized this as some super-evil alliance. Not the case. The are just defending themselves any way them can. We now have Pakistan (a MAJOR nuclear power) onboard as an ally. We have a formidible list of allies. They need help wherever they can get it. Obviously the most strategic allies are ones in close proximity to the US. You sir are a victim of media manipulation. I on the other hand talk to people in the Middle East every day. I am a third generation American from Lebanon. I have friends in Lebanon, Jordan, Israel (let's just say I'm pro-palestenian and leave it at that), Yemen, Pakistan, UAE, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, and Qatar. All of which keep me updated on reality. Not to mention I speak Arabic, Hebrew, Parsi (or Farsi if you want the Arabized equivalent), and Yemeni. I have also taken four college classes in middle eastern politics and culture. My interest in MY homeland started long before my beautiful persian queen came along.

PS: My last girfriend was a Cuban immigrant. Does that count.

Thank you. Finally someone that gets it.

WE all like to believe our egotistical view is the only one and that we're never wrong. To be honest, as a child educated during the REagan years, I'm too politically dumbed down to make real foreign conclusions of TRUTH. Perhaps if this great country would give us 6 weeks of vacation like other industrialized nations I could get some culture.

But I must ask in all seriousness, what kind of bike do you ride?

IMO it's not egotistical it's just a stunningly familiar situation. We all know what happened last time we tried this.

If that really is a serious question I ride a 7point with a 66rc2x. Why?

Yeah, I like to see what bikes fit with different personalities or what may stick out as important or exotic. Don't read too much into it- I'm not that thoughful, but thanks for replying.
