Another carrier moving into the area, Secdef ratcheting up the bluster, coutdown to war w/ Iran? Attack on Iranian nuclear facilities? Or will Gunboat Diplomacy succeed?

Both stories from CBS news.

Oil Story

"The dollar has totally been removed from Iran's oil transactions," Oil Ministry official Hojjatollah Ghanimifard told state-run television Wednesday. "We have agreed with all of our crude oil customers to do our transactions in non-dollar currencies."
Another Carrier to Gulf

A second American aircraft carrier steamed into the Persian Gulf on Tuesday as the Pentagon ordered military commanders to develop new options for attacking Iran. CBS News national security correspondent David Martin reports that the planning is being driven by what one officer called the "increasingly hostile role" Iran is playing in Iraq - smuggling weapons into Iraq for use against American troops.

"What the Iranians are doing is killing American servicemen and -women inside Iraq," said Secretary of Defense Robert Gates.

Let's get them out of harm's way!!

As for the oil-dollar... not surprised. I would hope that this would be a wake-up call, but it won't. By the time anyone realizes that corrections need to be made to improve the dollar's credibility in the marketplace, it'll be too late.

The dollar and Iran are the only reasons to vote Dem over McCain.

will bush launch an attack against iran sometime before Nov?

all signs point to YES

w00t!
Not that I like Iran, but seriously, WTF? Things are stretched thin as it is, and a bunch more deaths of US servicemen, obviously in business of protecting oil interests, would be a fvcking disgrace. Im all for Israel and whoever else letting Iran have it, I couldn't give **** less, but how much deeper are you actually in support of us digging ourselves? I don't think you place any value on the lives of American servicemen.

We'll just have to nuke a promissing democratic constituency unfortunately being ruled by fundamentalists instead of sending our troops in or even nurturing the grassroots democratic movements there. (sorry for the run-on sentance)

Not trading in Dollars? Sound like smart financial planning to me. My company will soon switch to Brazilian currency for our operations in South America.

Only you could be excited for Bushco to stir up more murder and mayhem before slithering off into the sunset...

What a good idea, let's tie the next President's hands with the foreign policy hang-over from the past 8 disastrous years...

i believe a strike by israel would pull us in on the order of weeks, not years.

then, with the impending armageddon, F&MaC forum would heat up nicely.
