I think those players are speaking very reasonably.

"My problems are not with the American people," says Iraqi soccer coach Adnan Hamad. "They are with what America has done in Iraq: destroy everything. "
It's nice to hear that someone in their situation understands that many, if not most, Americans do not support what is going on in Iraq. I feel vindicated.

How is what they say reasonable?

On one hand they say that they are glad that Saddam's son is not running the committee any more yet they see America as invaders?

The only way to oust his son from that job was through force. People of regimes like his dad's (Saddam) will only listen and heed violence since they only stand for it. See his track record.
Now let's think for a minute if we oust Saddam and that is considered a good thing what is left? Just leave the country in turmoil and in anarchy? Then the strongest militant groups would take over and the country will be dis-stablized again. Let's look at history, leaving a country broken and dis-stablized is a great breeding ground for the Napolean's and Hilter's of the world. Read your history book kids.....................

Why are the insurgents fighting is the next question? Why don't they just come to the table air the differences and ideas and try to build a better Iraq with the other groups? B/c they want a big slice of the pie and if they come to the table with everyone else, they may not get the slice they want soooooo they resort to other means............ violence. It is all about selfishness on a part of a group and power! So don't believe the crap that the say they are defending Irag. From who? us US "invaders". LLets look at the definition of an invader? Looking back into history, you invade a country to aquire the means of a country (the $), the people (raping women and taking property, piliging) etc. I seriously doubt we are doing this in Irag.

So, here is a soccer dude that is glad that he is free (b/c of the US) but hates his liberators how is that reasonable?

As far as the commercial, if someone freed me afrom a dude that killed my family memebers in the past and they wanted to use the success in a commercial to benefit that adminstartion, I would think that is a small price to pay for my freedom

PS

Usually not political or a Bush supportor just trying to understand the logic of the last poster.............

If they want things back the way they were, then fine. We'll torture them and beat them if they dont perform like we want them to. Think that'll help'em?
Y'all did that already.
