We make a linkage uprade kit for that model year IH. It comes with an E13 crossbraced upper rocker link assembly, chainstays and bearings. It significantly improves torsional rigidity of the rear end. We sell it for $225. If you are interested give us a call at 207.772.3132. The '03 IH DH rocks stock, but DW just gave it a little nitro charge. Great bike for the $

Jonas

They're a bit heavy... around 13 lbs I think.
Nope! The 03 tips the scales in the 10s, the 04 at 12.2 lbs.

Dont listen to this guy ME89

The fork is the missle of the line Boxxer, whick is a sweet fork, same as the top of the line without the slippery silver coating stantion legs. A lot of races have been won on this fork.

JM just hates Rock Shox and its his mission to poo-poo all of their products whenever he can.

Yes, but only because they feel like crap, are released with flawed internals more than once, have ancient damping-technology and leak more than the exxon valdez ;)

I'll stick to my heavy motorcycle-inspired forks for superior performance, and that's what I'll always recommend :D

The 03 SGS-Team came with a Dorado not the Boxxer Race. The Race was on the SGS-Pro. Besides upgrading to the 04 linkage/swingarm and maybe e13 zerostack cups, I don't think there are many upgrades you can even make to that bike. Everything was basically the pimpest spec available on the market for 03.

Run it. I rode a 03 SGS DH frame for a bit and I am now on a 04 SGS DH Team Frame kit. I am a huge fan. More comfy on this bike than a lazy boy.

The geometry is fantastic. The linkage enables you to pedal hard out of corner, much better than other frames. It can rip down chutes really easily and air out as well. Basically, this bike allows me to ride on the edge longer than other bikes have. So yep, it works for me.

be a little more sensitive to people who dont have the proper upper-body strength for a real fork.... :sneaky:

back on the topic, the sgs series bikes rule. i dont even know which model mine is its got 7 in the back with a fox shock with one little knob for adjusting (or is it 2 knobs?i never really pay attention to it) and i beat my bike all to hell. its been through more than any other frame ive owned.

Congrats, man. You won't regret the choice. Let us know if you need any help setting up your guide. It's pretty straight forward with that frame. And if in the future you want to upgrade the rear end please feel free to give us a call at the office - we've got the linkage kits in stock. 207.772.3132

Have fun with it and keep the rubber side down, brotha'.
