So I've been looking at getting a new trail-bike and was about to drop the coin on an Azonic Saber, but after riding the Seven point, I'm going to hold off. Not usre why I'm posting this, but too late now.
After riding one at IB, I can't stop thiking about it.

Now... SKA or DW (Dee Dub) if you see this, can you drop me a PM and let me know where, when, and how much (Frame only).
I'd really appreciate it.
I'm jones'in!!

I'd like to get the frame only and swap most of my Hollowpoint parts onto it.

Maybe i'll do a 7.3 and sell all the parts. The parts alone are probably worth about $1400.

Ultimatly, I'd like to have a one with a Z1 FR (150mm) Tubeless, 70-90mm stem, full XT and 8in rotors.

$2500 seems SWEET for the .3, but $4300 seems steep for the .7

Are all the 7 point frames the same or is there a difference between the .3 and the .7 ?

Good thing IH offers the frame only option, especially when it has the 5way 5th Element for 1300 $

Damn... Can we all Bug Todd any more than we already are? I see that there are a few other threads with questions for Todd and DW with weight questions, European distribution, and availability.

Somethnig tells me that DW has created a monster. ;)

Education for the inexperienced before you get laughed at ;) :

There are several stupid questions that always get asked on this board whenever a new bike is posted. They stem from stupid questions that have been/are asked in the past on other boards. One is, "Will they make one for freeriding?". Others: "Does it come in rootbeer?", "Can I fit a 3.0 Gazzy on it?" "Will it go faster with green doublewides?", etc.

Just ignore the jokes, they're old and tired, but like a good pair of jeans, their age makes them comfortable and enjoyable :D

Bump this question. I couldn't find it here and I don't go to mtbr so it may have been covered before.

Yo guys,
the frames are identical on the 7.3 to 7.7. They are all 7POINT frames. The .3 .5, and .7 designations are the complete bike build specs.

The weight on the 7POINT frame is below 9 lbs.

9 pounds seems really heavy... I guess I can freeride on it after all! I guess it's not flexy.

Maybe I'm stupid but the 7point3 doesn't seem like it should be 2500 bucks. I'd get it if it was 1900, but I'm pretty sure no retailer cuts the prices like that.

What? People pay more than that for FRAMES from other MFG's.
The 7.3 is gonna be a sweet deal even at full retail.

This isn't some cheap kona or Giant. This frame ROCKS.
Custom tubes, nice welds...
What else do you want for $2500?

Not to put a damper on the e-spec, but come on, I'm psyched on the new IH bikes too but how can you say they have nice welds if they don't exist yet?

:nope:

I mean everything sounds really promising but let's wait 'til we see the production bikes. We flatter DW and Todd enough as it is!

But I agree with you on the pricing, very reasonable for a bike with this much into the design.

Um... Maybe because I rode one at interbike?
Here is a link to my review with pics:

I understand what you mean though.
People often do make comments about stuff they've never seen, but this is not the case in this instance.
Yes, I was psyked about them before I rode one... and that was b/c I've been riding a hollowpoint for years. AFTER I rode one at interbike, I knew that it did indeed live upto the hype though.
... and I will be buying one SOON.

Yeah, I thought about that and meant to mention that what I said is true even if you saw/rode one at IB or got a bro ride at race or something. I mean the show bikes are often pre-production versions hand-picked just for the show. Anyway, no big deal, there are definitely worse offenders, and I'm guilty of it myself sometimes...but then I get called on it too. :) Like I said, don't want to put a damper on the buzz, they look sweet and I hope the production bikes live up to the speculation.

We can ask Todd, but I believe that teh IB one was a full on production model. Maybe with different tires to suit the specific terrain.

It is a huck bike,it can't be freeriddenn :D

We're putting in our frame order in and we will be able to sell frames online!
Sorry if peeps feel this is spam flavored, but few will be selling frames, just whole bikes, which we can't sell online, just in our storefront.

Keep in mind that if you're getting just a frame they are 150x12 rear spacing and use an 83mm bb shell. So if yer Isis then FSA makes a bb,and there is Saint available too.

but don't they already come with a rear hub? (the framesets)

and about that 83mm shell BB - does FSA actually sell it? I have a friend that called FSA a few weeks ago trying to get that exact BB and they said they didn't have any and were not planning on making any?

Same for Truvativ, they list one in their catalog, but don't sell it - only make them for Chumba.

Nope not all the same. Lowest price model has 5th element 2 way, middle has 3 way, and the top model is 5 way? I believe.

Still for $1300 (if it includes the 5 way 5th element and rear hub) is a deal.

I know its a beautiful bike but it doesn't seem worth that much. Its just a stance fork and a 2-way shock. I know those are quality components, and correct me if I'm wrong, but you can find that sort of thing on bikes that cost 1600 bucks. (Haro X3) I know I'm going to catch hell for that one - "Its a haro its crap, IH is way better!" but I'll say it anyway.

You can always upgrade components one at a time. The frame is the important part of the package.

The USA made frame(Sunday) comes as a frame kit which includes the hub, reducer cups,hs and post.
Not sure yet what,if any parts will come with the 7. frame yet, were still ironing out the details. It will i believe, come with a 5 way Progressive coil that is custom tuned with lighter compression damping since the bikes don't need the extra platform.Hopefully they will feel more active then other Progressive equipped bikes do..The ones i rode felt like your average shock action and had standard shocks on them, but the Progressive booth at Internike had a Sunday with the correctly valved shock and i was only able to push on it but it felt WAY plush compared to all the other Prog. shocks i have felt/owned.

FSA shows a platinum DH isis bb that is 83 E x 128 on their site. The bikes come with Gravity Extreme cranks, which are ISIS and i believe they are using the BB as well.

well, the Horsey catalogue spece show the FSA Platinum DH,Pro,and the 3. has listed the Truvativ Giga DH.So i guess we will have to see if they are available to peeps other that mfg's.

newsflash! BTI has 'Platinum DH CrMo BB, ISIS - 85 x 133mm' in stock!
which should be the same as 83 E type right? I mean there are not both 83 and 85 shells out there right?!

Then just cut off the end of the spindle with a dremel or somethin geez :eviltongu

I'm sure more will be around soon, there seems to be a few bikes going this direction.
That wide shell allows for short stays and guide and tire clearance.Pretty cool.
