Is an Avid IS 185mm rear adaptor the same as a IS 203mm front?
If they're different, can I just run thinner spacers on the front to make up the 1mm difference?

An Avid 185 rear would be the same as a 205 front.

This has nothing to do with your thread but I have a Giant Glory with a 185 rear disc brake. I bent my disc Thursday at Platty. I was going to buy a new 40.00 disc then realized I had a 203 adapter and a spare 203 disc. Problem solved.

Another note, you can add washers to get other adapters to fit. Its not the best way to do it but if you're in a pinch and need to run a different rotor size for a short time it does work.
