Im paying $2.09 /gal of 93 for my Discovery. I spend about 60 or so a week on gas. Im thinking of ditching the Disco in favor of a WRX, the subie isnt too much better MPG rates, but it takes reg which is around $1.90.

As for my 8.1 silverado, that thing takes plus at around $2.00/gal, costs around $60 to fill and the tank only lasts me part of a week :dead: This is why the chevy stays in the garage

Calgary, Canada eh?
I spend maybe $10-20 a week on gas.. Drive to school/work everyday and around.. I get great mileage.. and I sorta have a lead foot.

I just laugh when people in SUV's are driving with 1 person in them most of the time and are complaining about high gas prices.. Gas prices are not going to get any cheaper really in a long time.. maybe once the war is over they will drop a bit though.

Since November 9, 2001, I have spent $5,846.23 to put 87 octane in my Astro van. $5.30 a day, $1,934.50 a year, to an order of magnitude.

That's 3,824 gallons, 25,243 pounds at 6.6 pounds/gallon - twelve and a half tons of fuel.

I live right between Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo, and I'll confirm these are some of the worst prices in the country. It goes for about $2.50 here...sometimes more. AND THERE ARE OIL WELLS ALL OVER HERE  Oh yeah...but there is a shortage. It is pure conicidence that all the oil companies profits are up several HUNDRED %- I think I heard sometimes over 1000%, this year  I smell some MAJOR non-competitvie practices going on. But we have a crew of oilmen in office, so they're sure to fix it...unless they have already.

Fortunately, I only live 7 miles from work, so I still don't spend too much. I would ride if I did have to show up so early.

I imagine that in coming years these huge gas-guzzler SUV's and trucks that've been selling so great lately will be pretty damn cheap on the used market. That'd be nice to pick something like that up for a song as a weekend vehicle.

We still have some of the cheapest gas of any non-OPEC country though.

Duh, Austin
It's about $1.80/gal here.

Over the summer we rented a car and drive through the south of France. It varied between E.80/L (~$4/gal) and E.95 (~$4.50/gal) - sometimes within a block of each other. Our car had a 15 gallon tank so driving an extra block or two could save you ~$7.50 on a fill-up. It was crazy.

Yeah - driving around in Europe is a good eye-opener in more ways than one. My wife and I travelled in France and one fillup cost over $80. I thought my MIL was going to $hit a brick. She had emptied her pockets and done the math in her head....... then her eyes got huge when I told her it wasn't enough. :D
