Obama promises you cash back from the windfall-profits tax he plans to slap on Big Oil. Check the tires? How about promises to go after oil-market speculators who help drive up prices as well as big subsidies for solar, wind, ethanol and other alternative-energy projects? The Illinois senator likens his energy package to the Kennedy-era space program.
Obama, coming from the country's second largest corn-producing state, has supported such subsidies...

McCain is offering a summer break from the 18.4-cent federal gasoline tax, and holding out the promise of more offshore drilling to help you drive more cheaply to the beach. He wants to build 45 new nuclear reactors to generate electricity. On Monday, he proposed a $300 million government prize to anyone who can develop a superior battery to power cars of the future.
Both want to boost alternative energy technology, press for more fuel efficiency and promote more conservation. Both McCain and Obama favor expanding the electricity grid, implementing caps on carbon emissions to curb global warming, spend billions on clean-coal research and give nuclear energy a larger role. They differ on offshore drilling, but agree on keeping the ban on oil exploration in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.
And while Obama is calling for reducing the influence of special interests, some of his top supporters and advisers are tied to the ethanol industry. Former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle of South Dakota is on the board of several ethanol companies and works at a Washington law firm where he lists advice to clients in renewable energy among his specialties. Obama energy adviser Jason Grumet previously worked at the National Commission on Energy Policy, a bipartisan initiative associated with both Daschle and former Kansas Republican Sen. Bob Dole, a big ethanol backer, according to a story in Monday's editions of The New York Times.

i'm working on cold fusion dry cell here at my desk as i type!
I deleted it because I saw you had it buried under the bogus "summer tax break".

Jay Leno is having a hydrogen separator installed in his garage to supply his new BMW. Sure beats converting WVO to biodiesel.

How about this?

McCain distanced himself from comments in which top adviser Charlie Black said another terrorist attack this year on U.S. soil would benefit his candidacy against Democrat Barack Obama.
It worked last time, right?

Even better WITH CONTEXT:

The terrorism statement from Black came in an interview in which the veteran GOP strategist conceded that the U.S. public often holds the party of the incumbent president responsible for economic distress.

Black said a terrorist attack could rebound to McCain's general-election advantage after saying that the Vietnam veteran and former prisoner of war was helped prior to the New Hampshire primary by the December 2007 assassination of Benazir Bhutto.

The assassination of Benazir Bhutto in December was an "unfortunate event," Black told Fortune Magazine. "But (McCain's) knowledge and ability to talk about it reemphasized that this is the guy who's ready to be Commander-in-Chief. And it helped us."

Front Range, dude...
Bring gas back down around the $1.10 a gallon mark and you can have my vote. And my wife. And two of the kids. I will throw in a dog too. And the fish. Did I mention a t.v? A backrub? I draw the line at a happy ending though. That will take sub .90 c. per gallon...

Basically you guys are ****ed because everyone with half a brain understands what is happening, and how essentially it is contrived, but it continues to happen anyway. Sheesh.
