Which brakes are you useing?
LX V-brakes with LX mechanical disc brake levers.

The levers are dependant on wether or not I win an e-bay auction. The LX v-brakes are in the mail. They come with levers but the ones I'm looking at winning on ebay come with the 8spd shifter pods I need.

Really........ hrmmm ok cool thanks man!

The e-bay auction I'm bidding on says they aren't v-brake compatable but I wasn't sure if this is true or not.

Either way I'll probably buy them. Thanks

Your buying 8s sti pods? Just be sure that the levers aren't designed for canti's. Shorter cable pull, but you prob know that. If they are short-pull, Avid makes a cable disc designed to work with short-pull levers on CX bikes.

Wow ok thanks
Here's the auction I won.

Actually another option I have is if it's possible to just use the pods because I already have the brakes and levers. I wonder if they are useable seperate.

Those look like the old canti levers, from the length of the levers. The v-brake levers usually aren't that long. I could be wrong but they def look like canti levers to me.
