I wanted to ride with my friends and stuff so I bought a used frame because I didn't have much money and they were willing to lend me some parts. The paint sucked, so I sanded/sandblasted it. Crappy part is the frame was cracked.

That was 6 months ago and I still want to ride. I paid $100 CAN for the frame. Is it worth it to get the frame welded up? The frame's a steel Oryx dd99.

For $100 you might be able to find a comprable used frame. If not, call around to different machine/welding shops, some will probably have lower prices.

But yes, any amount of money spent on bikes is worth it.

you can get new bike frames from previous years for cheap too. Hardtails especially....hardtail 04 frames start around $130 that are atleast decent.

I personally don't like riding re-welded frames, when they crack their retired, but for entry level performance frames are easy to come by, like a previous post said past year from are deals, and ebay has tons of mildy used frames.
