I was just wondering. Does ridemonkey make money, as in from Ad's? Or is this ridemonkey's personal hobby? Who pays the server bills as there is no membership charge... :think:

Well kinda. For the first 3 years or so the site cost a crap load to run (server expenses) which I paid for out of my pocket. Thanks to drastic reductions in the cost of servers and bandwidth, in 2004 the site actually made some money. The amount of money the site has made so far is much smaller than the $$ spent since the site started. I hope that in the next year or two the site will break even on total costs.

i got a idea to make more money. :evil: make people who post more than 2k posts pay 10 bucks to keep their membership... hehe

Ridemonkey used to be an old Chinese empire until the head Buddha kicked him out for being an asshat jibber. He then made an internet forum for people who enjoy riding bicycles.

Before I forget - we did have some raffles to raise funds a couple of years ago, and there were some private donations to keep the site going during tough times. So thanks to all those peeps.

wtf is Klingon? i always hear about it. what the hell is it? some weird geek language or what, but why did some one make a random language? Somtimes i wish i grew up in the 80's, other times not. :dead:

Klingon is the language of star trek. Its crazy it is a "real" language, yet its totally made up just for star trek :blah:

pitch in for what? he said the site is making money, not that its about to crash because he cant afford to pay for it. Why do you just want to give RM money?

I tried to donate $5 one time, but he sent me $5 worth of stickers.
