Just doing the numbers. Allowed for pretty much the lightest gear on the parts I could not see.

hubs 200 380
rims 1100
spokes 430
tyres 2660
tubes 210
=4980

shifter 110
derail 190
chain 280 hp
cass 160 da
cable 60
=800

cranks 1000
ring 60
guide 190
pedals 370 mg1
=1620

seat 250
post 240
clamp 20
bars 220 (carbon?)
stem 200?
grips 100
=1030

fork wc- 2800
headset 110

brakes 800?

= 12140 / 26.76lbs

So frame and shock is 10lbs?
Please correct me if my weights are off...

Depends on how crazy you wanted to go, i added up close to 600g before i even got to the bars

Yeah sorry mate. Looking at those numbers, we are going to have to call BS on your weight

Post some more specs and prove us wrong!

Theres weight savings to be had on what I listed. But not a huge about. Middleburns will save 200 grams or so, and you might ditch another 200 with a super light post and seat. After that though there is not much room for improvement.

cranks (tons below 1000g, depending on bb length, XT's / deity's w/Ti spindle, hone's, etc) -100g at least
e13 guidering 44g -16g
selle SLR 140g -110g

Oh yeah, there is defiantly lighter. Just trying to work out how light his build really is.

You can save a bunch going to high rollers too. Especially if you can find a 2.35 rear.

Its an 83 shell right? Lightest option is going to be middleburns. About 800 grams with an fsa 83mm bb.

Does it matter guys, really? The frame is a 160mm travel all-mountain frame. Not a DH frame. The frame could quite easily weigh 8lbs or less.

It serves me right for clicking on the thread I suppose, but jeez...

Chances are they aren't included. I've never heard of a company including the weight of the rotor, usually just the caliper/lever and sometimes an adapter... I dunno, I could be wrong though.

Where did you get that Socom frame figure? Is that with shock hardware, dropouts, axle (if 150mm), and all the bearings and stuff in the linkage? that just seems TOO light! (so sweet if that's correct though)

the frame weight on the website is 8.5 w/ swinger 6 and steel spring, so i did a little math, but it was somewhat of an apporximation, sao maybe the total weight is around 33 or 34 at the most

sweet! i'm contemplating a socom for my next steed... for max weight weenie status i'd have to get it with 135mm dropouts which would require a new wheel set.... time to open up the wallet!

My 06 DB weighs in at 40lbs even... I could probably lighten her up if I wanted to - But so far I am content.

Can someone who has a v10 under 40 tell me there parts spec?
the spec I have isn't anything really special. I didn't compromise at the wheels, but have some lighter parts through out that help. I know that my bike isn't the lightest out there, but it is exactly how I race it and don't have to worry about anything failing either. No sketchy parts.

Light things:
Carbon Juicys 205 f/r
Carbon XO ****
Gamut P40
Stylo 170 Cranks and BB (that's the real trick!)

Most of the rest of it is pretty normal stuff.

I'll try and ride some this spring at one of the races and see. I have a hard time losing a little when it comes to stopping.
I have had those 6ti's red hot and tinging from a huge DH that teeters more vert than descent from the cell towers.
AAAHH! I know better than to touch them though. :D I saw somewhere a rotor burn on a persons arm. OUCH! Make for a really cool story though.

The Socom frame is with a Medium TI revox and even that weighs 8.86lbs. Your other weights are off as well and that doesn't include the rear axle, and an air shox on the back isn't the smartest idea. Pretend builds are fun though :)
