So, I have my laptop and my desktop. I have one folder that I put most of my important stuff in (Schoolwork, etc) How can I easily share that folder on both computers?

So that it will update the new files and such, know what I mean?

Use a G-Mail account like a seperate hard-drive that can be accessed from anywhere. Or, an FTP account/site will do the trick (this is all assuming both computers have internet access).

Create a Briefcase on your laptop, right click on desktop->new->briefcase.
Connect the two computers, either over a network, or direct cable connection. Then drag your files from your desktop harddrive into the briefcase on your laptop. Now you have a copy of the file in the briefcase. Each time you're done working on the laptop, reconnect to the desktop computer. Then right click on your briefcase on the laptop, and say Update.

Are you using windows? If so, use the briefcase feature on your laptop.
