A little background:
When I got my Aspire One (SSD) I tossed Linpus and installed the Ubuntu Netbook Remix. It was pretty good, but I noticed (based on BV and others input) that my battery life sucked ass.

So recently they released 10 (2.6.32-24-generic) and not only is it worse (sub 50 minute run time) but now it takes FOREVER to charge, or at least the battery monitor seems to think so,

It might just be getting on in years, I've had it for just over 2 now with the original battery. But I am starting to think it is just a piss poor power managed OS. What are my options?

Who the hell pays for Windoze? :p
I paid $5 for my employee copy of Windows '95 in 1996. Does that count?

I am upgrading the wifes machine to Windows 7 to see if it's an improvement or not. I might see about putting it on the netbook. Although there is a good writeup on OSX on the Asipre One, too.
