Let them stay with no guarantee of their safety. Like my mother used to say "do whatever you want, just don't come running to me when you break your leg".
What I don't understand about these settler people is why they insist on putting their children in danger. Now I understand these guys wanna make a principled stand and that's fair enough but if you're single or a childless couple then go for your life, just don't involve children just to make a point. What kind of life must it be for these kids in those settlements? Is land in such short supply in Israel that people just have to move to the occupied terrirtories? Whether or not they should be there full stop is not what I'm saying. Why the kids?

But you know the USA will try to protect citizens living elsewhere in decent size pockets -- not individuals. That's part of Israel's problem, is that they don't want to abandon their citizens, but on the other hand, I bet they're like you... "hey, we're gone, come with us or don't come crying."
But Israel will -- like any country -- feel the need to protect it's citizens and that'll cause trouble.
Perhaps Israel should make a deal with Palestine... the settlers would become Palestinian citizens with all the rights and protection afforded to other palestinians.

I agree. Makes you wonder why the palestinians are doing it to their kids too.
But in defense of the Israeli settlers, they've been living there 20-25 years and the terrorist activity has only been "bad" for the past 10 years. I still think they should move, but I can understand how someone wouldn't want to leave their home by force or terror.
I agree that any country has the right and should protect their citizens living elsewhere but they should also be able to draw a line and not protect citizens who try to go against policy whose actions could ultimately go against the greater good of the country.
Although I can't understand why either Israelis or Palestinians would put their children at risk their is quite a difference between the two. An Israeli child has a very good chance of living a prosperace (sp?) safe life. A Palestinian child will most likely have a hard life, and there is little hope within the Palestinian community. This is in many ways the fault of the Palestinians and the corrupt Palestinian officials, but poverty has always lead to risky behavior.
F 'em - their actions are selfish and delusional. This is one of those situations that they need to see that by remaining they are adding to the conflict. If they really want peace, they need to make sacrifices and get the F' out so maybe some reasonable dialog can happen. Only then will their families be safe (well, safer...)
Israel needs to forcibly remove them, and stop protecting them.
