My new frame has a 83mm BB and I am installing a 83mm BB. The BB will not screw into both sides at the same time. You can only screw one side all the way in.

Is this normal?

If so what side do I screw all the way in.

Could the drive side not screw all the in so it will line up with the chainguide?

Any help is good help

you do know one side is reverse thread right?
can you screw it in at all? the threads might not to be chased if its tough to screw in.
you need to check the chainguide/crank's instructions on how many spacers you will need b/w the driveside cup and the frame

It's all brand new stuff so I bet your right it has not be chased.
I can't find anything about spacer on the BB but it does say something about spacers on the chainguide
