I forgot just how much long steep fireroad slogs can beat you up. Trying to be in descent shape by the time time my 57th rolls around in Dec:eek: I went over to Pleasanton Ridge after work for a grinder. The warm up before the climbs start is the 100' from the car in the parking lot to the cattle gate then its 4-5 mile of solid hillclimb to the top about 2000' above. 70s when I started 50's when i got back to the car. The views were stunning which took my mind off the grunt. I locked out both the fork and the rear suspension for the climbing

Halfway up the first climb with Calaveras reservoir out in the distance

top of the first big climb

just me and my shadow up there

The rollers up top

Chillin at my turn around spot

Mt Diablo across the San Ramon Valley

Cool afternoon colors on the hills on the way back down

Fifth ride in 6 days has my legs screaming tonight:thumb:
