Nah, That guy is good. Have you seen anything else he's done? There's a sweet video of him riding in full traffic, speedo maxxed out at 299Kmh (It doesn't go any higher but the engine is still revving) nipping between trucks and down the inside and centre line of traffic.

There's also multi stuff of him burning off cops and so forth.

Actually, the Ferrari in the video is a 275 GTB and the piece was filmed in 1976. The gentlemen who filmed the video was Claude Lelouch, and he had a friend that was a Formula 1 driver drive him through the streets of Paris. The camera was mounted on the bumper - one of the first instances of a gyro-stabilized camera being used.

Upon unveiling the video for the first time in public, he was promptly arrested. But he never identified the driver.

Some MIT students did an analysis of the video, and said average speeds were around 100, with top speeds over 145 mph.

Let's put it this way. If you asked your beloved Toyota engineers for their ultimate no compromise sports cars then gave it to BMW's M division, they would find a way to make it better. Sick car.

Digital=Speedo (km/hr -- divide by 1.6 for mph)
Analog=Tach
Green lights are probably shift up lights.

I think the green lights in this case are signals to the rider that the flashing lights are on.

Why on earth would you try to outrun a bike with a car? Never gonna happen! And are there any ways to save these videos? I know they are in Flash, but....... anyone?

You don't really think that was real do you Mike? So those guys on the roadside were really lucky to be where they were so that they could capture that sweet chase multiple times.

I know it was staged, its pretty odvious from the first 3 seconds of the video on. That still doesnt make it right to try and outrun a bike with a car, which is what the video was trying to portray.....

i like that rendevouz video.
but for some reason.. i dont see that car averaging 100mph...

the speed at which the cars go thru him in the straightaways, its like 4-5 cars a second.. that is roughly on my mind 30-35 meters/second.. like 60-70mph at most...

145 mph, its like what?? 250km/h??.. thats like 60 meters per second at least.. that means a block in less than 2 seconds, or 2-3 houses/locals per second...
the road towards le concorde square is no way long enough to average 250km/h for so long....

but am really talking out of my ass here tough... :oink:

it sounds hella fast though.....

My friends brother just got arrested today for outrunning the police on the motorcycle he bought yesterday. Apparently he was doing over 120 when he lost the police. The police were waiting for him at home. Idiot is lucky to be alive.

Now THAT is funny!

On a related note, one of my friends just did 15 days in jail for 120 in a 55 on his bike.

I thought that was frikken hilarious!

Did you even have to try?

sometimes, only on the straights....some cars are pretty friggin fast in a straight line...but, as you can tell from the vid, it takes a pro driver to drift a turn fast enough to keep up with a bike at only 70% of his lean angle.

i learned my lesson a long time ago...stand up wheelie past a cop that had someone pulled over....well, he was apparently finished and came after me :nuts:

----and the same thing again, on the same stretch of highway the next month :nuts: :nuts: :dead:----

and now i'm a cop! yeah! :thumb: :D but i don't mess w/ bikes...that is, unless the idiot extended the swingarm for no good reason :mumble:

A: all staged
B: not necessarily true, it takes a really incredible rider to keep up with a car like the M coupe down windy roads. That bike is a GSXR1000 with a turbo and in the windy road section the car was pulling away. On the highway the bike owns obviously, but bikes just don't corner that fast, especially big ones. You can only do so much will an inherently high center of gravtiy. Not to mention that choppy roads, speed bumps, and U-turns will all effect the bike more adversely than the car.

those were pretty awesome videos. I used to race in college for Cornell. Those controlled slides take a lot of skill. He is one aweosme driver. anyone know who he is?? The motorcycle is sick too.. i love seeing it zip right up the the back of the car.. scary fast.
When I bought My Saab 9/3 it came with weekend in florida of racing school.. it was the time of my life. I learned a ton of techinues from it, all while using their cars!!!

not necessarily true. as you can tell from the video, the bike was not even at a full lean angle and the car had to drift to make the turn fast enough to stay ahead. not many drivers could handle the car that well. if you put an evenly matched amature car and motorcycle driver on their respective machines and put then through the twisties, the bike would be able to hang no problem. you put a pro car driver against a novie bike rider and it's a different story.

i went to several track days at willow springs and observerd consistantly faster lap times from the amature bikes than the comparible car class.
