on halloween a few years back my friends and i witnessed something that could have had similar results.

it was about 930 pm so trick or treating was over and we had walked over to a friends house to grab something there before heading back to someone else's place. a couple of us hung around out front and we see this volvo station wagon coming down the street toward us with no lights on. i realized something was wrong when the lights stayed off and the car didn't slow down for an intersection. it just barely missed clipping a truck going past the street and then it nailed a telephone pole right next to us. as it turns out, there was no one in the car at all and whoever drove it last forgot to put the parking brake on. so we have this small crowd gathered around the car now and then a family comes out and right when they see the car the father looks at his daughter and tells her to move her car. then she begins to back up and he has to yell at her to shut the car door as it was wide open. she should've just stayed in the kitchen.
