You should try long distance hiking. It’d blow your mind.Only by accepting the absurd...can one achieve absolute freedom.
my g/f encourages me to buy a 911 or 718, but only if its manual.Ever try to figure out how you are going to tell your wife you are about to buy a sports car
Have you considered a kart?and I don't get a sports car until that happens.
Yeah, it might be time. I've been dealing with nagging pain for almost twenty years, from an old dirtjumping injury. Entire hip joint is riddled with arthritis, there's no cartilage left, acetabulum and femoral head are trashed and sitting bone-on-bone. Frankly the doc that looked at my x-rays on Wednesday was surprised I'm not in more pain and I still be doing all the things I be doing.wait, what?
This is the way....only if its manual.
Former coworker had ground down his hip so much his bad leg was 3" shorter. When he finally got a hip replacement they were only able to stretch it back 2".Yeah, it might be time. ASAP means a little something different in them there mountain towns...Reconstruction contractor is dragging his feet on getting an estimate to our insurance company. Fucking HURRY UP dude, you told us almost two weeks ago that it was just about ready to submit so submit that shit already. Really wanna get/keep this project moving forward, want (need) to be back in our house ASAP.
I would have loved to get Maddie into karting. She loved her quad and homegirl loved to go fast. But I didn't have @stoney money then.Have you considered a kart?
Mine liked the idea of another Corvette rather than the EV. I wasn't willing to spend Corvette money right now, but was looking at something cool. It's also not something found around here, so I was excited. Was going to fly out on the 23rd and drive it 1600 miles home.my g/f encourages me to buy a 911 or 718, but only if its manual.
That crazy new procedure that Rodney Mullen had done might be an option.Yeah, it might be time. I've been dealing with nagging pain for almost twenty years, from an old dirtjumping injury. So full replacement or resurfacing? R had her hip done after retiring from ski racing.Translation: shit's fucked, yo. [/pesqueeb]
That's how I met @stoney for the first time. Remember when he bought that Subaru (shit, 18 years ago?), flew from SF to the east coast, and drove it home in like 72 hours? He crashed on my couch after one leg of driving. He was a nut then, and not much has changed. Was going to fly out on the 23rd and drive it 1600 miles home.
Did I mention that "shit's fucked, yo" ?So full replacement or resurfacing? R had her hip done after retiring from ski racing.
My mom had both hips replaced in the last couple of years. Did them one at a time about a year apart. For as much as she worried about it beforehand, she’s been very happy since. Get yourself a good surgeon and flip that hip.Did I mention that "shit's fucked, yo" ?
Full replacement. Nothing else e.g. resurfacing was put on the table as an option.
Regarding getting her hip done, has she ever said anything like "The only regret I have is not doing it sooner" ?
Rodney is skating full again, that's crazy. New ball and socket in both hips.Did I mention that "shit's fucked, yo" ?

Yes, literally this. She's procrastinated with most of her surgeries.Regarding getting her hip done, has she ever said anything like "The only regret I have is not doing it sooner" ?
I also know several people (ahem) our age that have bionic hips and still shred all the things. All the docs keep saying to me, "It's your call when you want to do it, no pressure, it seems like you're still doing all the things so if you won't wanna get it done yet then don't." And right now I'm like "But why wait? What's the benefit of waiting?" And beyond 1.) the inconvenience of recovery and 2.) the possibility the bionic hip could wear out and I'd need another surgery at some point (which is less and less likely based on advancements in materials science) I can't see a reason to wait. Shit's fucked, yo... and either I decide when to get it replaced or the hip will decide when. Feeling like I could easily sacrifice a shreddy winter now and be back on the bike at near 100% by April or May.Yes, literally this. She's procrastinated with most of her surgeries.
I know several people (ahem) our age with new hips who recovered 100% and still shred on bikes and skis.
Are you hitting on me?you're going to be fine.
i've been having minor issues with my left hip for some time, flares up when I get lazy and am not active enough. once i get back onto a good stretching / yoga / exercise routine its fine. but I have a growing concern i'll need the old replacerator joint at some point. hopefully I'll still be working at a company that makes them when the time comes.I also know several people (ahem) our age that have bionic hips and still shred all the things. Also I've had some shit happen this year and I've met my deductible/out of pocket maximum. And that money is real, there's a comma in that number for sure.
You should make this sacrifice for the rest of us needing an epic winter.<snip> Feeling like I could easily sacrifice a shreddy winter
